Livingstone Christian College (LCC) opened in January 2002, starting with a small class of just seven students. Since then, we have grown to a community of over 1250 students strong from Prep to Year 12 and over 240 staff members, plus an onsite Early Learning Centre.

Based in Ormeau, close to both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, we are looking for specialty subject teachers for our years 7-12 cohort full-time.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Drama Teacher and a Film and TV Studies Teacher. When you join Livingstone Christian College, you will also be joining a passionate and engaged teaching staff and student body. 

Film and TV Studies is one of our most popular electives in the senior school, and as such, we are looking for more teachers to take on classes from years 7-12.

Our Drama Teacher will take on classes from years 7-10 and either the year 11 or 12 class alongside our Head of Drama; they will also take on classes in English, Social Studies, Music, or similar based on their interests and experience.

You will be involved in extra-curricular activities based on your specialty, including:

  • Performances and musicals 
  • Filming extra-curriculars and running our student media team

As a teacher at LCC, you will work collaboratively with other administrators, faculty, and staff to promote our school's mission and values.

Core duties:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching programs in line with Australian Professional Standards,  QLD curriculum frameworks, and educational trends;
  • Assess students and their work through diagnostic, formative, and summative methods for developmental, feedback, and reporting purposes;
  • Contribute to our College's objectives and maintain a positive school environment amongst staff and students;
  • Assist in managing and developing assets and facilities for educational purposes;
  • Maintain student records and provide performance reports to relevant internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Stay updated on relevant curriculum programs to maintain teaching competency.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience and understanding of your speciality, either Drama or Film and Media Studies.

We are open to graduates or experienced teachers joining us, as long as you have passion for your specialty, professionalism, and mutual respect for yourself and others.

You will have:

  • A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or Graduate Diploma if you hold a Bachelor's in a different field
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for educating young people
  • Substantial experience or qualifications in your chosen specialty
  • Ability to build connections and rapport with students while maintaining professionalism
  • Energetic and positive attitude

You will be an Australian-qualified teacher with QLD Teacher’s Registration or registration with another state and the ability to obtain QLD Teacher's Registration.
